Korea Stings
September 28, 2011
This is a little project I have set for myself, it’s to make a few animated stings to show a humorous look at modern korean life/culture.
They aren’t yet finished, but it will give you a little look at what I will be doing.
First up…. Couples wear (my korean friends know how much I HATE couples wear ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
A finished version of this will be the outro sequence for each sting:
next up will be 아줌마!
I will keep adding to this when I finish or make more animations
Population Control
August 30, 2011
This was an assignment to use ‘found footage’ and piece it together to make something completely different. The concept of the piece is this:
Taking the idea of the ‘noosphere’, the third succession of phases of development of the Earth, after the geosphere (inanimate matter) and the biosphere (biological life). For more information, see the thoughts of Teilhard de Chardin and Vladimir Vernadsky on the subject.
So the idea is this, what if Government’s etc started to use this idea of a global consciousness and in some way used social networking etc as a means of propaganda to control the global way of thinking?
However, as has been seen recently with the emergence of ‘hacktivist’ groups like anonymous and lulz security, there are ways for the general public to strike back.
Of course this piece is a little bit tongue in cheek, but it does raise some questions about just who is in control of the internet.
Many thanks to my Professor, 김태진, for this opportunity.
This work was chosen to be featured in this exhibition:
변화, 변화, 변화 : 파주로 가는 우회로
Trans-, Trans-, Transition : A detour to Paju City

Etching – Kookmin University, 2011
July 20, 2011
One of the classes I took this semester was an Etching class. Although most of my work is usually digital, I like to get back to traditional methods too.
Here is some of my work from the semester. All the etchings were printed on nice korean paper stock. Some of the slides are unfortunately labelled incorrectly, as they are not all drypoint!! I will change them accordingly at a later date. I will also put up the initial sketches and some photos of the actual plates too. I really enjoyed this class, we had a very good group of people ^^
On the final class, our professor asked us to present our work from the semester, so here are my slides (click on the picture to enlarge):
See you in Disneyland EP – JWalker and Language **NSFW**
July 17, 2011
Here’s an EP I was working on with Tim Oxford (Language) before I came to Seoul. It’s a concept album based on Serial Killers, so this won’t be for everyone!
It’s unmastered and a few things might be added/slightly changed when I return to the Uk.
It was mainly made using vinyl (scratched), the only things that didn’t really come from vinyl were the vocal samples, which pretty much came from films about the serial killers or from actual interviews.

The Tired Eyes – Rust in Peace EP proofs (first stage)
March 8, 2011
here’s a few proofs I’ve put together for a cover for The Tired Eyes.
These are just early proofs for the front and back of the cover (all subject to change).
On some of them I have kept the colour to black so they could be screen printed in various colours and on different stock (coloured, textured etc).
Depending on the design chosen (if any are chosen haha) I might even screen print a few covers myself here in Korea for myself and the band, as very limited editions. There is probably more text to add also, hence the space left in places.
Personally I like the plain white eyes illustration with no text at all on the front. The band name etc can all appear on the cd instead.
THE FONT IS NOT A DISTRESSED FONT MADE BY SOMEBODY ELSE… IT IS MY OWN!

boobosh cont.
March 1, 2011
here’s a logo I was messing around with recently for my ongoing work with boobosh
It’s by no means a final logo (and may never actually be used), but I thought I would post it anyway.
Check out the boobosh blog anyway (link above), it will be a great company when everything is in motion and it has some great resources for art, design, music etc.
Looking forward to further collabs
